The Postgraduate Summer School 2026: HSUHK × Oxford × Beihang University, an initiative co-hosted by the Graduate School of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK), the Hertford College, University of Oxford, and Beihang University, successfully concluded on 5 July.  HSUHK awarded scholarships to 15 outstanding postgraduate students from HSUHK and two students from Beihang University, who participated in this immersive summer school programme. The programme included a three-day Hong Kong Session at HSUHK from 24 to 26 June, followed by a seven-day United Kingdom (UK) Session at Hertford College, University of Oxford, from 29 June to 5 July.

The Hong Kong Session started on 24 June with a welcome address by Professor Joshua Mok Ka-ho, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research) and Dean of the Graduate School at HSUHK, who highlighted the programme's strategic value in developing globally minded postgraduates. The session featured a series of workshops on research methodologies, intercultural communication, and poster presentation skills, alongside cultural visits to Central Market, Tai Kwun, the West Kowloon Cultural District, and the Hong Kong Palace Museum.

The UK Session at Hertford College, Oxford, offered participants a unique opportunity to study in one of the world's most prestigious academic settings. Founded in 1282, Hertford College is one of Oxford University's oldest colleges, renowned for its iconic Bridge of Sighs and its central location in the historic city. Students engaged in a rigorous academic programme that included sessions on Management Science: Decision Analysis, exploring tools and strategies for effective decision-making, and Management Science: Leadership and Strategy, which examined translating energy into action, overcoming resistance to change, and communicating effectively. A dedicated session on AI and Ethics prompted discussions on fairness, bias, security, and transparency, particularly in teaching and learning, while a seminar on Current UK Social Issues explored how British society is addressing contemporary economic and social challenges. Evenings featured cultural activities with Residential Advisors and an introductory lecture on London.

Beyond the classroom, students explored Oxford's historic landmarks, immersed themselves in British culture, and forged lasting friendships with peers from different backgrounds. Balancing academic rigour with cultural enrichment, the programme broadened students' horizons and deepened their understanding of interdisciplinary approaches to complex global challenges.

The programme reflects the commitment of HSUHK to fostering international academic collaboration, nurturing global talent, and equipping postgraduate students with the academic rigour, cultural competence, and innovative mindset needed to address the grand challenges of our time.

Student Reflections

At six o'clock in the morning in Oxford, I opened the door of my dormitory and ran toward the morning light. As my feet touched the stone-paved streets, the air felt cool yet carried a gentle warmth and clarity. On both sides stood buildings filled with the weight of history. Occasionally, the sound of bells drifted from the towers, deep, lingering and solemn, like a greeting sent from several centuries ago. In class, I learned that true decision‑makers constantly revisit their own processes, and that values without institutional support remain mere ornaments. Group debates on energy crises taught me that real problems have no perfect answers, only choices with costs. I am grateful to The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong for this week at Oxford, brief yet life‑changing. I brought back not just notes, but a lasting curiosity and a sharper eye for my own biases. The classes encouraged us to think critically and share our ideas. I especially enjoyed the discussions on leadership, communication, and global issues. Learning together with students from different backgrounds helped me understand that people may have different perspectives, and effective communication requires respect, active listening, and open-mindedness. 

Outside the classroom, living in Oxford gave me the opportunity to experience British culture and history. Walking around the colleges, visiting museums, and exploring the city allowed me to see how tradition and modern life exist together. 

As a Master's student in Digital Media for Online Communication, I believe this programme has broadened my international perspective. These experiences will be valuable for my future studies and career, especially when working in an international environment.

Looking back on the Oxford Summer School, it changed not just my knowledge but my way of thinking. The three courses: Communication, AI, and Economics, each left a mark: Communication taught me to express ideas clearly across cultures; AI confronted me with automation and ethical boundaries; Economics offered tools to understand markets. Most memorable was the "What is Money?" lecture, revealing money as a fragile consensus sustained by trust and collective belief, which still influences how I read the news. Classroom discussions were vibrant; I dared to voice half‑formed ideas, and peers from various backgrounds helped refine them. The energy of David, Mariana, and Scott turned dry subjects into something I looked forward to. After class, strolling through Hertford College's ancient corridors felt like stepping into Harry Potter's world, and the silence of the Bodleian was awe‑inspiring. I am grateful for the scholarship; this trip strengthened my resolve to work at the intersection of technology and society, stay adaptable, and connect innovation with a broader global outlook.

From the Hong Kong thematic workshops to the Oxford Summer School, and then strolling through London's streets, the encounter between these two regions and two civilisations has freed me from the confines of a single mindset. In the past, I used to rely on fixed frameworks for research, but the small-group seminars at Oxford forced me to set aside preconceptions and confront diverse viewpoints head‑on. I came to understand that academia is never about parroting established conclusions, but about seeking truth through critical thinking. While walking, I gained new insights: the pragmatic research logic of the East and the free speculative paradigm of the West are not opposed but can complement each other. This experience has not only broadened my horizons but reshaped my intellectual outlook. From now on, I will integrate the strengths of both academic traditions, conduct research with a more open and dialectical perspective, and maintain an open mind, cultivating myself amid the fusion of Chinese and Western cultures, and growing into a learner with both local grounding and a global vision.

Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA)

As the Communications Authority's executive arm and a trading-fund government department, OFCA regulates Hong Kong's telecom and broadcasting sectors, covering licensing, spectrum, standards, policy advice, anti-spam enforcement, and fair competition.

Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD)

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data is an independent body responsible for monitoring, regulating, promoting, and ensuring compliance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of the Laws of Hong Kong.

New Territories South Regional Crime Prevention Office of the Hong Kong Police Force

At the new school year, Hong Kong Police's New Territories South office held anti-fraud talks and interactive booths at universities. Through games, students learned scam-prevention tips, aiming to protect mainland Chinese students and promote campus safety.

Library

The Student Affairs Office (SAO) supports students' whole-person development and wellness beyond the classroom. Its key services include the Physical Education Section, which promotes healthy lifestyles and personal growth through sports and activities; the Career Planning and Development Section, which offers career fairs, workshops, and one-on-one advising for postgraduate students; and the Personal Growth and Counselling Unit, which provides free, confidential counselling and wellness support.

HSUHK Library spans 4,000 sqm as a Learning Commons. It supports teaching, learning, and research with eco‑friendly bamboo furniture; the building also holds a BEAM Plus Platinum rating.

Advancement and Alumni Affairs Office

Since 2015, HSUHK's AAAO coordinates fundraising to secure external funding, cultivate a giving culture, and strengthen alumni relations, supporting the University's advancement and resource development.

Key Link Family Centre

The Key Link Family Centre was established in 2005 and is dedicated to serving Shek Mun and nearby estates. The Centre actively recruits individuals from all walks of life to become volunteers and work together to care for the community. 

Shatin Baptist Church Education Centre

Shatin Baptist Church established the Shatin Baptist Church Education Centre (Night School) and registered with the Education Bureau as a non-profit educational institution. The centre offers various types of educational services for students, parents, schools, and the community.

New Home Association

Since 2010, New Home Association has provided comprehensive social services for new arrivals, ethnic minorities, and the disadvantaged across HK and Mainland, with multiple district centres and a 2011 cross‑border unit, aiming to build an inclusive and caring society.

On 3 August 2026, the School of Transdisciplinary Studies (STS) at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) successfully hosted the International Research Symposium on Internationalization, Higher Education Hub and Talent Management, bringing together speakers and participants from local and international institutions to explore the evolving relationship between higher education internationalization, talent mobility, and the development of globally competitive education hubs.

Held in hybrid mode, the symposium was organized under a Public Policy Research project led by Prof. Joshua Mok Ka Ho, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research) and Director of STS, and funded by the Public Policy Research Funding Scheme of the Hong Kong SAR Government. The event provided a platform for scholarly dialogue on strategies to attract, develop, and retain high-calibre talent in an increasingly competitive global environment.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Mok highlighted the growing strategic importance of internationalization, doctoral talent development, and higher education hub construction in supporting innovation, knowledge production, and regional competitiveness.

Featuring eleven presentations across four thematic sessions, the symposium examined a range of contemporary issues, including university governance, doctoral student mobility, graduate employability, lifelong learning, academic talent circulation, and comparative education hub development. Distinguished speakers included Prof. Angela Yung-Chi Hou and Prof. Sheng-Ju Chan, whose presentations contributed valuable insights into higher education reform, governance, and talent development in Asia.

Particular attention was given to the attraction and retention of international doctoral talent, with discussions highlighting how Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia are leveraging funding schemes, immigration pathways, research opportunities, and innovation ecosystems to strengthen their competitiveness and long-term talent development. The discussions underscored the growing importance of doctoral talent as a strategic resource for innovation, knowledge production, and sustainable development.

Concluding the symposium, Prof. Joshua Mok Ka Ho reflected on the rich discussions generated throughout the day and emphasized the value of collaborative research in informing future higher education and talent policies. He noted that as competition for global talent intensifies, stronger partnerships among universities, governments, and industry stakeholders will be essential to building sustainable and inclusive higher education ecosystems.

The symposium reaffirmed HSUHK's commitment to advancing internationally relevant and policy-oriented research. By bringing together scholars, policymakers, and practitioners, the event fostered meaningful dialogue on the future of higher education, talent development, and global academic collaboration in Asia and beyond.

We are pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the 2026 Postgraduate Summer School, organised by the UCL School of Management for the Graduate School of the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong and other leading international universities. Hosted at UCL's Canary Wharf campus in London from 22 June to 3 July, the intensive two-week initiative offered a global cohort of students deep academic engagement, cross-cultural collaboration, and professional growth. HSUHK provided scholarships for 12 outstanding postgraduate students to participate in the programme.

Themed Innovation Ecosystems for Grand Challenges (IEGC), the programme introduced students to the concept of innovation ecosystems and its key pillars – Mindset, Product and Customers, Organisation Design, Processes, Knowledge and Technology, People and Context. Through 62 hours of lectures, workshops, and practitioner sessions, participants explored how innovation emerges within ecosystems and how it can address pressing global issues such as sustainable cities, artificial intelligence, and green finance. Course content covered a wide spectrum, including the Innovation Ecosystem Framework, business model innovation, digital-driven business transformation, AI and grand challenges, and the future of work. 

Beyond the classroom, the programme offered a rich array of activities designed to complement academic learning. Situated in Canary Wharf, students were immersed in London's premier financial district, gaining unique exposure to the city's dynamic business environment. Social and cultural highlights included guided tours of London's iconic landmarks and networking sessions with industry professionals. These activities expanded the students' cultural horizons and helped them build enduring international friendships.

This programme reflects the University's commitment to nurturing global talent, fostering international academic collaboration, and preparing students to tackle the grand challenges of our time through innovative and entrepreneurial thinking. 

Student Reflections

As a student majoring in artificial intelligence engineering, I took part in the two-week summer business programme Innovation Ecosystem for Grand Challenges at University College London (UCL). This experience completely broke my long-established narrow way of thinking typical of science and engineering students and significantly broadened my horizons. This interdisciplinary learning experience will exert a profound influence on my future development. I will integrate business and sustainability perspectives, transcend disciplinary constraints, cultivate holistic thinking, and in R&D strive to balance innovation, profitability, and social responsibility, so as to deliver innovative outcomes that create both economic and social value.  HONG Dongming (MSc-DSAI)

Participating in the UCL Summer School was a transformative experience that broadened my academic horizons and deepened my understanding of sustainable development. As a student specialising in public policy and risk governance, the programme taught me that effective governance is not merely about managing immediate risks—it requires a forward-looking perspective that balances economic, environmental, and social dimensions over the long term. 

The summer school not only enhanced my academic knowledge but also inspired me to become a more reflective, inclusive, and resilient individual, ready to tackle the complex policy challenges of the future.

Over 200 scholars and policy researchers from 121 institutions worldwide gathered at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) for the 2026 East Asian Social Policy (EASP) Annual Conference on 17 and 18 July 2026 to explore pathways for social policy innovation in an era of intensifying crises. Convened under the theme"Social Policy in Asia in an Era of Multiple Disruptions", the Conference examined how demographic change, technological transformation and wider social challenges are reshaping policy thinking and practice across Asia.

At its heart, the Conference re-centred discussion on people, values and equity, encouraging scholars, practitioners and policymakers to consider the broader purpose of development in a rapidly changing world. Through keynote presentations, roundtable discussions, concurrent sessions and panel exchanges, participants shared research insights and practical perspectives on building more inclusive and resilient societies.

Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony was officiated by Dr the Honourable Ko Wing-man, GBS, JP, Chairman of the Social Welfare Advisory Committee of the HKSAR Government; Mr Edward To Wing-hang, JP, Director of the Social Welfare Department of the HKSAR Government; Professor Kim Bo-yung, Chairman of EASP; and Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research) of HSUHK. 

Dr the Honourable Ko, GBS, JP,  said the East Asian context offers valuable lessons for social policy innovation, as the region's traditions of family responsibility, community solidarity, respect for older persons and collective well-being provide a strong foundation for policy development.  

He also noted that these traditions must be adapted to contemporary realities, particularly changing demographics and rising social expectations. He added that conferences of this kind are important because they bring together policymakers, practitioners and researchers for meaningful cross-disciplinary dialogue, with innovation emerging when evidence, practical insights and policy leadership come together. 

Mr Edward To, JP, the Director of the Social Welfare, delivered a keynote speech for the conference to elaborate the targeted poverty alleviation strategy of the HKSAR Government in supporting and empowering those most in need in the society, thereby fostering a greater sense of achievement, belonging and satisfaction among grassroots families. 

Roundtable Discussion

A key highlight of the opening day was the Roundtable Forum,  "Reimagining Care and Resilience: Policy Innovations for Ageing Societies in Hong Kong and East Asia". Moderated by Dr Chan Chi-kit, the discussion brought together Professor Joshua Mok, Professor Cecilia Chan Lai-wan, Emeritus Professor of the University of Hong Kong, Dr Fan Ning, Founder of Health in Action, and Dr Qian Jiwei, Senior Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore.  

The speakers engaged in an in-depth discussion on institutional innovations, cross-border care models and resilience strategies for rapidly ageing societies. Their exchange highlighted the importance of collaboration across sectors and borders in responding to the growing challenges associated with ageing populations in Hong Kong and the wider East Asian region.

Keynote Presentations

The Conference was further enriched by three keynote presentations from internationally renowned academics.  

  • Professor M Ramesh, Professor and UNESCO Chair on Social Policy Design in Asia at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, delivered a presentation titled "Beyond Universal Health Coverage in Ageing Asia: Reorganising Health Systems for Chronic and Long-term Care".  
  • Professor John Hudson, Dean of the School for Business and Society at the University of York, examined how social policy teaching and curricula have evolved across universities in the UK and East Asia. 
  • Professor Choi Young-jun, Professor in the Department of Public Policy and Management at Yonsei University, presented "Toward a Post-Scarcity Welfare State: AI, Redistribution, and the Politics of Serenity".  

Concurrent Sessions and Panel Discussion

The Conference featured a substantial academic programme, with 196 papers submitted and five panel proposals spanning 16 thematic streams. Together, these sessions reflected the diversity of contemporary social policy research and enabled scholars from different institutions and regions to exchange ideas on emerging challenges and policy responses.

The broad thematic coverage underscored the complexity of social policy issues in Asia today, including ageing, care, health systems, welfare development, education, migration, labour, inequality and the social implications of technological change. Through concurrent sessions and panel discussions, the Conference created a vibrant platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange and future collaboration.

Collaboration and Impact

The 2026 EASP Annual Conference was co-hosted by the Graduate School of HSUHK and the East Asian Social Policy (EASP) Research Network, and co-organised by the Department of Applied Social Sciences of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the School of Transdisciplinary Studies and the Centre for Public Policy Research of HSUHK. This collaborative effort reflected a shared commitment to advancing impactful research and policy dialogue on some of the most pressing social issues facing Asia.

Over 200 scholars and policy researchers from 121 prestigious institutions worldwide gathered at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) for the 2026 EASP Annual Conference on 17 and 18 July 2026 to explore pathways for social policy innovation in an era of intensifying crises.

Organised by the Graduate School of HSUHK in collaboration with the East Asian Social Policy (EASP) Research Network, the Conference was convened under the theme "Social Policy in Asia in an Era of Multiple Disruptions", with more than 195 papers presented and five panel sessions held across 16 thematic streams.

At its core, the Conference addressed a pressing global concern: the growing tendency of contemporary societies to prioritise economic and instrumental goals at the expense of the human dimension of development. It sought to re‑centre policy conversations on people, values, equity, and the broader purpose of progress in a rapidly evolving world.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Dr the Honourable Ko Wing-man, Chairman of the Social Welfare Advisory Committee of the HKSAR Government; Mr Edward To Wing-hang, the Director of Social Welfare of the HKSAR Government; Professor Kim Bo-yung, Chairman of EASP; and Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research) of HSUHK.

At his officiating speech, Dr the Honourable Ko Wing-man said, "The East Asian context offers valuable lessons here. While our societies differ, we share cultural traditions that emphasise family responsibility, community solidarity, respect for older persons, and collective well-being. This provides a strong foundation for policy innovation. At the same time, we must adapt these traditions to the contemporary realities of changing demographics and social expectations. This is precisely why conferences like today's are so important. They bring together policymakers, practitioners, and researchers for meaningful, cross-disciplinary dialogue. Academic research provides evidence, community practitioners contribute practical insights, and government leaders help translate these ideas into policy. Innovation flourishes when these perspectives converge."

Mr Edward To, the Director of Social Welfare, delivered a keynote speech for the conference to elaborate the targeted poverty alleviation strategy of the HKSAR Government in supporting and empowering those most in need in the society, thereby fostering a greater sense of achievement, belonging and satisfaction among grassroots families.

A core highlight of the opening day was the Roundtable Forum titled "Reimagining Care and Resilience: Policy Innovations for Ageing Societies in Hong Kong and East Asia", where panellists Professor Cecilia Chan Lai-wan, Emeritus Professor of the University of Hong Kong; Dr Fan Ning, Founder of Health in Action; Dr Qian Jiwei, Senior Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore; and Professor Joshua Mok engaged in an in-depth discussion on institutional innovations, cross-border care models and resilience strategies for rapidly ageing societies.

The exchange was further enriched by three keynote presentations from world-renowned academics. Professor M Ramesh, Professor and UNESCO Chair on Social Policy Design in Asia at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, spoke on "Beyond Universal Health Coverage in Ageing Asia: Reorganising Health Systems for Chronic and Long-term Care". Professor John Hudson, Dean of the School for Business and Society at the University of York, examined how social policy teaching and curricula have evolved across the UK and East Asian universities. Professor Choi Young-jun, Professor in the Department of Public Policy and Management at Yonsei University, presented "Toward a Post-Scarcity Welfare State: AI, Redistribution, and the Politics of Serenity.

The 2026 EASP Annual Conference was co-organised by the Department of Applied Social Sciences of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the School of Transdisciplinary Studies and the Centre for Public Policy Research of HSUHK.

The inaugural International Public Policy Association (IPPA) International Summer School on Public Policy (Hong Kong Edition 2026) successfully concluded at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) from 21 to 26 June 2026, bringing together a dynamic community of emerging public policy scholars for a week of intensive learning, international exchange, and academic inspiration.

Positioned as a highly selective international programme, the Summer School attracted 140 applications from around the world and welcomed 92 outstanding participants. Among them, 43 scholars traveled to Hong Kong to join the on-site cohort, representing 42 renowned institutions across 18 countries and 16 nationalities. Spanning five continents — Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and Africa — the cohort reflected the programme's strong global reach and academic distinction. Participants came from leading universities including the National University of Singapore (NUS), The University of Hong Kong (HKU), University College London (UCL), Humboldt University of Berlin, Jagiellonian University, Beihang University, and the University of Warsaw.

Learning from the Public Policy Scholars

Course: Making Public Policies Work Effectively: Bringing Multiple Stakeholders' Perspectives Back in 

Lead Instructor: Prof Azad Singh Bali

Focus 

This course equips researchers to conceptualize and measure how governments architect policy and why those choices matter. Moving beyond a simple choice of tools, it trains participants to analyze policy through five core dimensions: the political and legal constraints of the design space, the behavioral impacts of specific instruments, the interactions within complex instrument mixes, the operational limits of policy capacity, and a policy's robustness against unexpected shocks. Ultimately, the course bridges theory and practice by teaching participants how to translate these abstract concepts into credible, measurable research indicators through hands-on data analysis.

The course frames policy advice as a highly political and institutional system. It trains participants to analyze how a diverse constellation of actors—including governments, think tanks, interest groups, experts, and the media—interact to frame problems and influence agendas. Ultimately, the course bridges theory and practice by using comparative real-world cases (such as health, digital, and crisis governance) to evaluate the political, democratic, and ethical implications of advice under conditions of uncertainty.

The research team led by Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic & Research) and concurrently Director of the School of Transdisciplinary Studies (STS) at the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK), was invited to co-organize the conference, "Responses to the Growing Impact of AI, Aging Society, and Global Competition: Critical Reflections on the Role of Higher Education," on 26 June 2026. The event was held in collaboration with the Taiwan Association for Institutional Research and Taipei University of Technology, and was supported by the Asia Pacific Higher Education Research Partnership (APHERP).

President Yi-Jun Jen of Taipei University of Technology and Professor Joshua Mok delivered the opening addresses. Following the opening ceremony, the conference commenced with the first panel, titled "Internationalization of Higher Education and University Governance". Professor Mok presented a paper on "The quest for an international higher education hub in Hong Kong: Comparative perspectives and university governance." This was followed by presentations from speakers representing National Chengchi University, City University of Hong Kong, HSUHK, and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Their presentations focused respectively on the new trajectory of international education destinations during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, world-class university aspirations and strategies in the Taiwan region, and the attraction and retention of global doctoral students in Hong Kong through an analysis of student voices on social media.

The Hong Kong research team also actively engaged with the audience while presenting topics related to AI, aging societies, and their implications for higher education. Dr. Shirie Ho from HSUHK – STS delivered a paper entitled "From perinatal care to lifelong learning: Leveraging AI for older adults' wellbeing and education," while Professor Colin Zhai from Lingnan University presented a paper on "The rise of AI and its impact on education for older adults." Additionally, scholars from Peking University shared research regarding how GenAI improves international publications and its subsequent effects on PhD students. In the afternoon, colleagues from Taipei University of Technology highlighted their recent experiences in integrating AI into institutional research and university administration. Overall, the conference provided an excellent platform for colleagues from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, and the Taiwan region to discuss the rise of AI and its profound impact on education, research, and university management.

The Graduate School, The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) officially launched the Postgraduate Summer School 2026: HSUHK × Oxford × Beihang University on 24 June 2026, marking the beginning of an enriching three-day Hong Kong Session (from 24 to 26 June 2026). This flagship initiative, co-hosted by the Graduate School of HSUHK, University of Oxford and Beihang University, brings together 15 postgraduate students from HSUHK and 2 students from Beihang University for an immersive academic and cultural experience, which will be followed by the UK Session at Hertford College, University of Oxford, from 29 June to 5 July 2026.

The opening ceremony this morning featured a welcome address by Professor Joshua Mok Ka-ho, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research) and Dean of the Graduate School at HSUHK, who highlighted the programme's strategic value in developing globally minded postgraduates through interdisciplinary learning and cross-cultural exchange. Professor Choy Siu-kai, Associate Dean of the Graduate School, followed with opening remarks, welcoming the participants and encouraging active peer engagement. Ms Emily Wong Shuk-wai, Manager of the Graduate School, then delivered a programme briefing outlining the schedule and key deliverables.

The Hong Kong Session offers a dynamic line-up of workshops and cultural activities designed to prepare students for their upcoming studies at Oxford. The first day centres on Associating with the Summer Programme and  the Academic Environment, featuring workshops on: Modern Research Methodologies: AI, Optimisation and Experimental Design for Multidisciplinary Challenges Communication led by  Ir Dr Eugene Wong Yin-cheung, Mixed Method Approaches to Social Research conducted by Dr Wan Kin-man, and Global Voices — Research, Culture & Communication facilitated by Dr Janice WongKa-yee. Day two focuses to Living, Speaking, and Mingling in Oxford, with practical sessions on Intercultural Communication, led by Dr Holly Chung Ho-ying and Social Mingling & Language in Casual Settings, led by Dr Gavin Bui Hiu-yuet. The final day explores Identity, Global Mindset & Practical Preparation — Representing Your University Abroad, culminating in a workshop on Engaging Your Audience: A Practical Guide to Poster Presentations led by Dr Amy Kong Ying-yuk.

Beyond the classroom, the programme features curated cultural excursions to enrich students' understanding of local heritage. The programme features a City Walk in Central, taking students to Central Market and Tai Kwun, followed by a visit to the West Kowloon Cultural District and the Hong Kong Palace Museum. The Hong Kong session concludes with dinner at Museum Café 8, offering participants a taste of Hong Kong's rich cultural diversity and inclusiveness.

The programme is designed to foster cross-institutional collaboration and equip students with a global mindset, academic rigour, and cultural competence.
