Professor Ka Ho Mok, Provost and Vice President (Academic and Research) and Dean of the Graduate School at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, served as the Principal Investigator for the community project titled "Embracing Ageing, Health Management and Promotion." He officiated the closing ceremony on August 2, 2024, at Lingnan University, which saw participation from over 180 community seniors and 40 student ambassadors.
The programme is funded by the Wu Jieh Yee Charitable Foundation and supported by the University Grants Committee of the HKSAR Government, which has engaged more than 1,200 participants over the past three years.
Principal Investigator Professor Ka Ho Mok emphasized that the programme not only successfully promoted health knowledge and assisted local seniors in establishing regular exercise habits and traditional Chinese medicine wellness practices, but also created a platform for intergenerational inclusion. He encouraged seniors and young people to care for each other and expressed the hope that the program could be expanded to other regions in the future, benefiting a broader group of seniors. This community project concluded with a strong spirit of intergenerational care, which is vital for fostering a caring and loving environment in Hong Kong.
