HIGH Programme

Students' Voice

Through the English Enhancement Programme, I developed greater confidence in public speaking and presentation delivery. I used to dread the Q&A sessions after presentations, but the programme equipped me with practical strategies to listen actively and respond clearly, even when faced with unexpected questions. The experience not only strengthened my communication skills but also helped me become more self-assured in both academic and professional settings. Althy CHENG Jianan

The Workplace Cantonese Class provided me with a practical and enjoyable learning experience. Through interactive lessons and engaging activities, I gained greater confidence in using Cantonese in both workplace and everyday settings. As I plan to work in Hong Kong after graduation, learning Cantonese is an important step towards integrating into the local community, communicating effectively with colleagues, and adapting to life and work in Hong Kong. YE Jin

As a student majoring in artificial intelligence engineering, I took part in the two-week summer business programme Innovation Ecosystem for Grand Challenges at University College London (UCL). This experience completely broke my long-established narrow way of thinking typical of science and engineering students and significantly broadened my horizons. This interdisciplinary learning experience will exert a profound influence on my future development. HONG Dongming

The UCL X HSUHK Postgraduate Summer School 2026 has been an intellectually transformative journey, shifting my paradigm from tracking isolated market trends to understanding the macro design of innovation ecosystems. Engaging with global peers at the UCL School of Management provided an incomparable environment to evaluate how structural solutions can be engineered to address modern "Grand Challenges."  CHI Wangqing

In the summer school, I learned that true decision makers constantly revisit their own processes, and that values without institutional support remain mere ornaments. Group debates on energy crises taught me that real problems have no perfect answers, only choices with costs. I am grateful to The HSUHK for this week at Oxford, brief yet life changing. The classes encouraged us to think critically and share our ideas. I especially enjoyed the discussions on leadership, communication, and global issues. Learning together with students from different backgrounds helped me understand that people may have different perspectives, and effective communication requires respect, active listening, and open-mindedness. As a Master's student in Digital Media for Online Communication, I believe this programme has broadened my international perspective. CHEN Xin
