Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies (AY2026-27)
As announced in the 2024 Policy Address, the Government has set up the Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies (FTSS) to attract meritorious local students to pursue advanced studies in strategic priority areas that support the development of Hong Kong.
Awardees are expected to contribute to Hong Kong's eight "priority areas" after graduating from the designated taught postgraduate (TPG) programmes.
- "STEM" (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics);
- Digital transformation and innovation;
- Hong Kong as an international trading and financial centre;
- Law, dispute resolution and intellectual property trading;
- East-meets-West cultural exchanges and humanities;
- Creative industries;
- Healthy living and caring community; and
- Sustainable city and regional development.
In recognition of HSUHK's commitment to offering innovative and multidisciplinary programmes that support Hong Kong's priority areas, the Education Bureau (EDB) has allocated HSUHK 22 scholarship places across 10 taught postgraduate programmes for the 2026-27 academic year — the second cohort under the FTSS.
For details about the FTSS Scheme, please refer to the Concourse website.
Amount of Scholarship
The FTSS offers a maximum scholarship of HK$100,000 per eligible student for the entire programme, irrespective of programme's duration or mode of study (full-time/part-time).
If the net tuition fee (after deducting other scholarships or subsidies) is less than HK$100,000, the scholarship amount will be adjusted downward accordingly.
The scholarship only covers the tuition fees for modules required to fulfil the prescribed graduation requirements of the designated programme. Any additional courses or credits taken beyond these requirements will not be covered by the FTSS and remain the student's financial responsibility.
List of Designated Programmes
The following is a list of 10 TPG programmes selected by EDB for the FTSS (2026-27 Intake).
