- 15-16 May 2025
In light of the increasing strategic competition between China and the West, Africa-China engagement is encountering new challenges. The Graduate School at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) is co-organizing an international symposium with Lingnan University, the Chinese in Africa/Africans in China Research Network, the Africa-China Research Network, and the International Classroom for Postgraduate Research Methodology Enhancement. This Symposium aims to initiate dialogues and critically engage with the latest research and trends regarding Africa-China interactions across governmental, business, and people-to-people levels.
The symposium will explore these dynamics within the context of rapid technological advancements, such as artificial intelligence, while drawing from both historical and contemporary perspectives. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive view of the current state of the field and its implications for Africa-China relations.
