On 16 June 2025, Professor Mok Ka-ha, Joshua, Provost and Vice-President (Research and Academic), and Professor Chan Wai Sum, Dean of the School of Decision Sciences at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK), led a delegation to the International Business School at South China Normal University (SCNU), Foshan Campus. The delegation included Dr Mo Yiu-wing, Daniel, Dr Fung Wing-hong, Derrick, and Professor Liu Hai, Associate Deans from the School of Decision Sciences, Professor Choy Siu Kai, Associate Dean of Graduate School, Ms Emily Wong, Manager of Graduate School, Dr Yau Tze-ken, Ken, the Head of the Global Affairs Office, Dr Ke Guoguo, Lecturer of the School of Transdisciplinary Studies.
HSUHK Delegation Meets with International Business School at SCNU Foshan Campus
During the visit, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions and expressed strong interest in advancing academic collaboration through student and faculty exchanges, joint research initiatives, and collaborative programme development. Particular focus was given to the area of the digital cultural economy.
In addition to institutional discussions, Professor Mok was invited by SCNU's leadership to serve as an external advisor and provide strategic insights on enhancing the university's internationalisation efforts. During the meeting, Professor Mok shared Hong Kong's experiences in promoting international higher education and emphasised the importance of impactful research in enhancing institutional internationalisation. He also quoted President Xi Jinping: "When the youth thrive, Hong Kong thrives," highlighting the importance of inspiring hope and opportunities for the younger generation.
Advisory Meeting with SCNU Management Team at SCNU Foshan Campus
The visit marked a significant step forward in strengthening academic ties and fostering long-term collaboration between HSUHK and SCNU. It also contributes to the broader vision of regional integration and innovation in higher education across the Greater Bay Area.
