Professor Joshua Mok Ka-ho, Provost and Vice President (Academic and Research) of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, was invited to attend the Higher Education Hub and Education Strong Nation Forum at the Chief Executive Policy Unit (CEPU) on 26 November 2025. The forum hosted a delegation from the China National Academy of Educational Sciences, led by Professor Li Xiaoqiang.
During the session, Professor Mok presented findings from his CEPU-funded research project, International Education Hub from Comparative Perspectives. He shared a comparative analysis of education hub developments in the United Kingdom, Singapore, and Malaysia, outlining strategic implications and best practices for Hong Kong. The presentation also examined Hong Kong’s competitiveness within the Asian higher education landscape.
The forum served as a venue for dialogue between Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland experts regarding Hong Kong's role in the national strategy to build a leading global education system. Distinguished speakers included Professor Cheng Kai-ming from The University of Hong Kong, Professor Hau Kit-tai from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Professor John Lee Chi-kin, JP from The Education University of Hong Kong, Professor Wong Yuk-shan, SBS, BBS, JP from Hong Kong Metropolitan University, and Mr Tai Hay-lap, BBS, JP, Special Advisor to the Chief Executive Policy Unit.
