South China Normal University (SCNU) has officially established the Guangdong Research Centre of Sino-Foreign (Mainland–Hong Kong–Macao) Cooperation in Running Schools. The Centre held its launch ceremony and inaugural expert appointment on 27 November 2025. Professor Joshua Mok Ka-ho , Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research), and Dean of the Graduate School at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK), has been appointed to the first cohort of Think Tank Expert for a three-year term. He will focus on advancing Sino-foreign cooperative education and the high-quality development of education in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Speaking at the Centre’s launch ceremony, Professor Mok shared his outlook on coordinated educational development across the Greater Bay Area. As a provincial-level think tank, the Centre will concentrate on institutional innovation, quality assurance and resource integration, supporting the GBA’s efforts to build an international demonstration zone for education. This collaboration underscores the close partnership between HSUHK and SCNU in jointly promoting academic research, strategic planning and regional educational innovation.
Professor Mok expressed his honour at the appointment and affirmed his commitment to further strengthening academic exchange and collaboration between the two institutions, supporting the Centre’s internationalisation and research in cross-border education, and contributing to the development of higher education in the GBA and across China.
