Graduate School of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) held the “HSUHK Postgraduate Programmes Promotional Talk” at Chuangxiang Bay, Nansha, Guangzhou on 22 January 2026. The event provided a comprehensive introduction to the latest developments and distinctive features of the University’s postgraduate education for the students aspiring to pursue further studies in Hong Kong, drawing an enthusiastic full house of aspiring students and education professionals. Through keynote speeches, alumni sharing and faculty consultation sessions, the promotional talk helped participants obtain first-hand information to plan their future academic and career pathways.

Shaping the Future: “Liberal + Professional” Education in Focus

The promotional talk attracted many prospectus students, and representatives from educational institutions in the Chinese Mainland. Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice President (Academic and Research) and Dean of Graduate School, delivered the welcome address and a keynote speech titled “Together, we shape the future”. He introduced HSUHK as a “Liberal + Professional” university committed to nurturing professionals with critical thinking, global vision and humanistic care and highlighted the vision of being a leading non-profit private liberal-arts-oriented university in the region.

Amid the ever-evolving geographic challenges of today's world, Professor Mok highlighted HSUHK's strong commitment to interdisciplinary learning and its close connections with industry. He explained that the university's postgraduate education extends beyond traditional academic training; it actively integrates theory and practical experience. This approach equips students to effectively navigate the challenges and seize the opportunities presented by emerging trends.

Leading the Future, Beyond Imagination: Introduction of HSUHK’s Postgraduate Programme

Professor Choy Siu-kai, Associate Dean of Graduate School, then delivered a keynote speech titled “Leading the future, Beyond Imagination – Join us on a wonderful postgraduate journey”, outlining the overall planning and feature of postgraduate education at HSUHK. Professor Choy introduced the dynamic learning environment in the University.

Representatives from various faculties then introduced the features and study pathways of their postgraduate programmes, including:

  • Cultivating Future Professionals in Business Communication – Professor Scarlet Tso, Dean of School of Communication
  • Fostering Global Vision, Shaping an Influential International Business School – Professor Victor Lau, Associate Dean (Taught Postgraduate Programmes) of School of Business; Programme Director of MBA (in Chinese) Programme
  • Introduction to the Master's Programmes at the School of Translation and Foreign Languages – Dr SIU Sai-cheong, Programme Director of Master of Arts in Translation (Computer-aided Translation) Programme, School of Translation and Foreign Languages
  • Integration of Humanities, Society, and Creativity – Dr Paul Fung, Associate Dean of School of Humanities and Social Science
  • The Era of Decision Intelligence: Six programmes to Build Future-Ready Decision-Making Competence – Dr Derrick Fung, Associate Dean (Graduate Studies) of School of Decision Sciences; Programme Director of MSc-INS Programme

The representatives highlighted the School’s strengths, faculty background, research areas, curriculum structure, industry collaboration, and international exposures This allowed participants to gain a more concrete understanding of the development prospects of different disciplines.

From Classroom to Career: Alumni’s Postgraduate Journey at HSUHK

During the alumni sharing session, Bruce Cao Yu and Ken Zhou Shixi, two alumni of the Master of Social Sciences in Public Policy and Risk Governance programme, shared their experiences under the theme “Transforming challenges into opportunities: My postgraduate journey at HSUHK”. They talked about their learning experience with HSUHK, how they adapted to the new environment, their participation in in internships and the UCL summer school, as well as their career development after graduation.

One-to-one Consultation: Personalized Guidance for Aspiring Students

The event concluded with a consultation session where representatives from the Graduate School and the Schools of Business, Communication, Decision Sciences, Humanities and Social Science, Transdisciplinary Studies, and Translation and Foreign Languages provided one-to-one advisory services to students and partner educational institutions.

This promotional talk aimed to help more students understand the distinctive features and comprehensive support of postgraduate education at HSUHK, establish closer ties with partner educational institutions, and promote higher education exchanges and talent flow within the region.
