HSUHK Postgraduate Students – "Career Connect Evening "  | HIGH Programme

Graduate School of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) collaborated with the Shatin Baptist Church Education Centre to host the HSUHK Postgraduate Students – “Career Connect Evening” under the HIGH Programme on 26 November 2025 (Wednesday). The event brought together postgraduate students with three distinguished speakers to address critical transition challenges: acquiring interview proficiency, understanding Hong Kong's evolving immigration landscape, and identifying sustainable employment pathways, preparing postgraduate students to become adaptable, well-rounded leaders.

Ms Cherry Lam Chui-yee, the founder and programme director of “Learning Outside School” and a doctoral student in Doctor of Policy Studies Programme at Lingnan University , delivered insights on postgraduate career pathways in Hong Kong. She addressed visa application processes, examined current immigration policies, and fielded student questions about settling and building professional careers within Hong Kong's competitive employment landscape.

Mr Jason Xu Junxiang, a Master of Business Management (MBM) graduate of HSUHK, shared candid advice on managing visa renewals, securing dependent visas, and balancing academic commitments with career planning. He also underscored the importance of learning Cantonese and encouraged new students to verify information sources and join official university groups for reliable updates.

Mr Nelson Cheung Wai-keung, Director of Human Resources of Arçelik Hitachi Home Appliances Sales Hong Kong Ltd, concluded the evening with an interview skills workshop. Drawing on his expertise in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), he taught participants how to strategically manage emotions, project confidence, and perform well in various interview scenarios, equipping students with actionable strategies to navigate the competitive job market.
