Professor Joshua Mok is appointed as Founding Editor-in-Chief of Major International Journal by China Association of Higher Education

A significant step in establishing Chinese Mainland as a global leader in higher education research has been taken with the launch of the new international journal Perspectives of Higher Education. Developed by the China Association of Higher Education with strong support from the Ministry of Education and hosted by Xiamen University, which also houses the editorial team, the journal aims to provide a platform for cutting-edge research and discourse in the field.

Professor Joshua Mok has been officially appointed as the Founding Editor-in-Chief. An appointment ceremony was held at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong on 24 January 2026, attended by a delegation led by Dr Bie Dunrong, Dean of the Institute of Education, Xiamen University, who presented the letter of appointment to Professor Mok.

With the launch of this journal, The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong and Xiamen University, supported by the Asia Pacific Higher Education Research Partnership (APHERP), plan to organise a series of international forums and conferences. These initiatives will promote the study of Chinese higher education from comparative perspectives, fostering cross-cultural understanding and strengthening international academic dialogue.

Professor Mok will collaborate closely with the editorial team from Xiamen University and the China Association of Higher Education to advance international research and publications in higher education.
