Professor Joshua Mok was invited by National Chung Cheng University to present a keynote speech entitled "Managing the increase of ageing population in Hong Kong: Inter-generational collaborative efforts for promoting productive ageing" at the International Symposium on Aging Society, Education and Social Sustainability co-organised by the Graduate School of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, National Chung Cheng University (Taiwan) and Lingnan University on 11 March 2025. The symposium attracted around 100 participants and speakers from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mainland China and Africa, providing a good platform for critical reflections on management issues related to the rise of older population across societies in the Greater China region and beyond.
Professor Joshua Mok shared the new social governance approach is emerging in Hong Kong, with co-production and co-creation of better social care services in support of the older people in the city. Realising the restrictions and constraints faced by the government in managing the rapid rise of older people, a multiple sectors and actors should get involved for supporting inter-generational care with integration of health and social services at the community level.

On 10 March 2025, Professor Joshua Mok was invited by the College of Education of National Cheng Chi University (NCCU) in Taipei to deliver an invited talk entitled "Global trends in higher education internationalisation: Its impact on student mobility". The talk was well received by postgraduate students at NCCU, very fruitful discussions followed the seminar. During the visit to Taiwan, Professor Joshua Mok also engaged in productive discussions for inter-university research / academic collaborations with College of Social Sciences, National Taiwan University, College of Education of National Cheng Chi University and Centre for Innovative Research on Aging Society of National Chung Cheng University.
