- 9 June 2025

Professor Mok Ka-ho, Provost and Vice President (Academic & Research) of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK), was invited as a featured speaker in the Dialogue session of the 11th HERA (Higher Education Research Association) 2025 Conference. Chaired by Professor Jung Cheol Shin, a Professor of Higher Education at Seoul National University in South Korea, Professor Mok joined Professor Simon Marginson from the University of Oxford and the University of Bristol in the UK to share their insights on the future of higher education.
The Dialogue addressed three key issues: (1) Policies supporting early-career researchers; (2) The impact of geopolitics on higher education, including threats and opportunities; and (3) Future research topics for higher education studies. Given the significant influence of geopolitics on global higher education developments, this Dialogue provided an excellent platform for participants from over 15 countries and regions to discuss the future of higher education from comparative and international perspectives.
During the two-day conference, held at The University of Hong Kong, doctoral students from the Doctor of Policy Studies (Education Policy and Management) programme, a collaborative initiative co-taught by The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong and Lingnan University, actively participated in the conference through presentations and discussions.
