Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Dean of Graduate School at HSUHK, was recently invited to Beihang University in Beijing to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the College of Public Management. This significant agreement aims to deepen collaborations between the two institutions, fostering academic exchange, research collaboration, and the co-hosting of international research events and summer schools.
During his visit to Beijing, Professor Mok also delivered a keynote speech at an international conference on November 10, 2024, titled "The Future of Graduate Education in the Digital Intelligence Era." The conference attracted over 400 participants, featuring esteemed speakers from prominent universities across Mainland China, Hong Kong, Canada, Greece, Japan, France, the USA, the UK, Australia, Russia, and Germany.
In his address, Professor Mok explored the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and postgraduate education, emphasizing the importance of ethical and moral values in the integration of AI into educational practices. He highlighted the unique approach of HSUHK in nurturing postgraduate students, focusing on the development of caring attitudes and international perspectives in their research endeavors.
This collaboration with Beihang University not only enhances HSUHK's global presence but also reinforces its commitment to providing a holistic and forward-thinking education for its graduate students.
