Over 100 postgraduate students gathered for the Full Moon, Joyful Connections: Mid-Autumn Carnival under the 2026-27 HIGH Programme.
On 16 September 2026, the Graduate School of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK), in collaboration with the New Home Association, presented Full Moon, Joyful Connections: Mid-Autumn Carnival under the 2026–27 HIGH Programme, attracting over 100 postgraduate students. Through student experience sharing, festive activities, live band performances, and interactive networking, the carnival enabled postgraduate students from different programmes to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival while building connections.
A welcoming start to the new academic year

Professor CHOY Siu-kai, Dean of Graduate School, delivered the welcoming remarks, followed by opening remarks from Ms WONG Yim-ping, the Controller (Service Development) of New Home Association. The gathering created a welcoming setting in which postgraduate students could meet beyond the classroom. For students beginning a new stage of study, it offered an opportunity to become more familiar with the University community, exchange experiences and meet peers from other programmes.
Practical insights from current students
A student sharing formed one of the key parts of the programme. Two current students Carter Liu (Left) and Jubi Yang (Right) from the Master of Arts in Entertainment Media Management and Communication shared their experiences of navigating postgraduate study. Their perspectives brought the discussion closer to students' everyday experiences. Rather than presenting postgraduate life only through formal academic information, the session allowed participants to hear directly from peers who were managing similar study commitments, expectations and transitions.
Culture and conversation
Festive cultural experiences, live band performances, Hong Kong-style refreshments and interactive activities added to the relaxed atmosphere. Icebreaking activities and interactive networking encouraged students from different programmes to introduce themselves and take part together. The lucky draw brought another lively moment to the celebration and concluded the programme on a cheerful note.
Building a connected postgraduate community
Through the HIGH Programme, the Graduate School continues to enrich postgraduate education with experiences that connect academic study, cultural participation and student development. Full Moon, Joyful Connections demonstrated how a festive occasion can also become a starting point for new friendships, peer support and a stronger sense of belonging at HSUHK.
