The Graduate School of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK), in collaboration with the HSUHK Jockey Club Residential Colleges, hosted an engaging and informative online talk titled "Off-Campus Accommodation Talk" on 30 July 2025. Designed to support new taught postgraduate (TPG) students, the event saw over 120 participants actively engaging in discussions about navigating Hong Kong’s rental market.

Led by Mr Denny Kan from Student Affair Office (SAO), the session provided a comprehensive overview of off-campus housing, covering:

• Rental Procedures: Practical advice on budgeting, location selection, safety considerations, and understanding lease agreements.
• Agent Verification: Guidance on identifying licensed agencies such as Centaline Property and Midland Realty to ensure secure transactions.
• Cost Estimates: Detailed rent comparisons for popular areas like Shatin, Tai Wai, and Fo Tan, helping students plan their finances effectively.
• Property Inspection: Essential checklists for evaluating units, including tips on assessing safety, amenities, and lease terms.

Participants lauded the talk for its practical insights and clarity, with many highlighting the rent estimates and safety tips as particularly valuable.
